"G-ROC" designed by nookarchitects architectural studio is an apartment located in Barcelona, ??Spain. It is also their fourth completed renovation design of an old apartment in the same building.
After nookarchitects has previously completed three unique apartment designs, CASA ROC, TWIN HOUSE, and ROC CUBE, "G-ROC" becomes their fourth project in this building.
Because of their experience in designing the first three apartments, they were able to quickly grasp some commonalities in conditions and features, and could continue planning with these features.
nookarchitects divides the area into different spaces for day and night use, and the bedrooms, bathrooms and other equipment are designed on the inward-facing wall side.
The half-meter high ceiling and the small balcony space protruding outside the door are the unique features of this apartment.
The 4-meter-high ceiling made them decide to design the bed as an elevated platform, and the space below can be used as a reading room, living room, or dressing room.
Use cloth curtains to create partitions instead of fixed door panels. If the space needs to change, it can be easily changed.
Lamps are installed under the handrails of the stair bed frame, extending the lines of the structure and becoming a small highlight.
Melamine refractory panels are used on cabinet doors to increase the durability of furniture and wall protection, providing a certain guarantee for the durable use of rental apartments.
The original two rooms became a spacious dining and kitchen space after removing the partitions.
The yellow tone of wood is used in the color scheme to brighten the entire space, and contrast with the gray and blue tones of the floors, walls, etc.
The division of indoor space is simple and generous, showing a high degree of penetration. The open partitions make the use of space easier and more flexible.
Hexagonal tiles of different colors are used near the kitchen sink and entrance, adding a sense of change in embellishment and also distinguishing different functional space transformations.
The old apartment, which was originally 50 square meters but separated by 4 compartments, was dull and airtight, was re-deconstructed into a highly permeable open design. The idea of ??not making complicated partitions and configurations allowed for the use of subsequent rooms. Readers can easily change the use and configuration of space with furniture.
