Speaking of the floors and compartments of a house, you probably have the same boxy images of ordinary buildings and apartments in your mind, right? This is the architectural appearance we are used to. But that doesn't mean they should be so limited. Kochi Architects Studio in Japan has completely broken through the concept of floors and partitions. Let’s take a look at this unique building that looks ordinary on the outside but is surprising inside – Kame House!
It looks like a simple and clean square building. If you think it is monotonous, you are totally wrong!
There is a window at the top of the entrance, and you can vaguely feel that it is a little different!
The interior of the house uses a large number of hexagons to connect floors and rooms. Standing at the corner of the house, you can see the inside of each room, which seems to be very spacious!
An alternative concept of building within a building, the floors are no longer flat, and the partitions with a corner missing in the middle have become very distinctive.
Although it looks boxy from the outside, when you walk inside, you have the visual feeling of being in a large amphitheater like a planetarium, very three-dimensional!
Although all the rooms are separated, they are connected together. Be careful not to do bad things secretly in there! You will be discovered easily!
There is also a roof window in the toilet, but the curtains have been set up above! No need to worry about being peeped!
Kame House by Kochi Prefecture Architect Studio subverts our previous imagination of floors and partitions. The open space in the house makes it particularly spacious and bright. No space is closed. It even makes me feel better! However, if families live together and want to do their own things without disturbing each other, such a design may need to be considered!
