Residences made of concrete always give people a sense of nakedness and primitiveness, like a work that has not been painted. Glebe House located in Sydney, Australia, is such a modern building with an original residential style.
Glebe House was built by the architectural firm Nobbs Radford Architects. This distinctive volumetric residence is made of concrete on the outside and wood on the inside. The designer also designed the walls. There are many doors and windows embedded in the depth. The concrete surface extends into the house and contrasts with the wooden elements inside. The interior living and dining spaces, as well as additional bedrooms and bathroom spaces are all open-plan, and the extension is located behind the main house, facing the garden. In addition, special attention was paid to the importance of private space and the sense of structural enclosure was enhanced during the construction of the buildings rear facade.
