We know that bookshelf refers to the utensils used by people to store books in a broad sense. Due to its different shape and structure, it has other names such as bookcase, bookcase, bookcase, etc.
So, today’s handmade tutorial is to use a few small pieces of wood to make a bookshelf. Let’s learn together~
There are many styles of bookshelves: hanging, steel-wood combination, wall-leaning, built-in, independent, partition type, etc. Each of these styles has different advantages. It is a common tool in our lives.
This DIY only requires simple sewing and some basic construction skills! So all you need is to know how to use a power drill, and how to make a simple flat stitch (using a sewing machine, or by hand).
Round wooden stick
Woodboard
Wood screws
A big piece of cloth
Bolts and Wing Nuts
Needle and thread or sewing machine
1. Cut a 40cm piece of fabric (this measurement includes seam allowance).
2. Fold the edge of the fabric 1cm and overlap it 1cm. Make sure the original edge is hidden. Where the stitching meets the bottom edge, repeat on the other three sides.
3. Fold the width of both ends by 5cm, sew the edges with a needle, and repeat with the other side of the fabric. (As shown above)
4. Cut 4 wooden boards with the same length of 40cm. Then drill a hole in the middle of the board.
5. Fix the two wooden boards and the two round wooden rods with screws. (As shown above)
6. Pass the fixed log rod through the 5cm gap you have sewn, and then fix the wooden board and the log rod. Do the same with the other end, as shown in the picture above.
8. Finally, cross the wooden boards on both sides of the cloth, align the holes in the middle of the wooden boards, and then secure them with bolts and nuts. (As shown above)
Simple, right? Even if you're not a magazine reader, this would be a great DIY.
