DIY illustrated tutorial on how to build a simple homemade chicken coop

DIY illustrated tutorial on how to build a simple homemade chicken coop< /p> After raising chickens in a triangular cage for 10 months, I discovered some problems, so I took the time to make a fixed chicken coop and share it with my friends.
The original purpose of choosing the triangular cage type was to allow chickens to move around on the grass and eat insects and grass. However, because after discovering the appearance of foxes, they dare not place them in an open space, so there is no need to adopt this "nomadic" mobile feeding method.
The space is too small:
The triangular cage has little room for movement. Although the Leghorn chickens and bamboo chickens are very small, it feels aggrieved to see them "bowing down" most of the time.
Large gaps in the cage:
The gaps in the cage are 2 cm wide, making it easy for mice to get into the chicken coop and enjoy their food. I don’t dare to do it during the day, but it will definitely appear at night. Therefore, we have to cover the chicken feeder every evening. Sometimes we go out and can't get home, or we forget to cover it. During the day, we raise chickens, and at night, we raise rats.
Lack of feed storage:
Due to the limitation of the height of the triangular cage, the storage part of the feeder cannot be made very large, and feed can only be added once a week.
Rain protection measures:
The triangular cage is open, and plastic sheets have to be placed on top in rainy days. Later, I made a rain shelter, but it was shaky and unsturdy when the wind blew.

Design points:
Based on the above shortcomings and the free space in the yard, we first made several points to improve the design. .
We sorted out a piece of land that is 2.4 meters wide and 0.6 meters deep. The height can be between 1.6 meters and 1.8 meters. This is the size of the new chicken coop.
Build a fixed chicken coop with a certain height and the upper part There are fixed plastic tiles.
Using the center point of the width as the benchmark, build two symmetrical "suites" to the left and right, because the Leghorn Chicken and the Bamboo Chicken want to fight.
Each suite has an activity and eating area area, plus an independent egg-laying room.
Each suite has two doors to facilitate cleaning of garbage and chicken manure. There is a transom on the upper part for easy ventilation.
The doors and windows are covered with small-hole wire mesh to close any other Possible entrance and exit, completely eliminating the entry and exit of mice, and the feeder does not need to be covered.
Renovate (heighten) the storage part of the feeder to increase the storage capacity by three times, so that feed can be added once every 2-3 weeks.
Improve the drinking fountain system, use a water storage tank, and use pipe diversion to provide water supply to each suite of drinking fountains.
A hollow iron frame is installed at the bottom so that chicken manure can leak down for easy collection and cleaning.
/>The egg laying house has a small spring door on the outside to facilitate egg collection.
