What is heat shrinkable film?

Heat-shrinkable film is a chemical product that shrinks and thickens when exposed to heat. It was first introduced from the United States. Now it has been explored by almost everyone, from greeting cards to accessories. When it comes to ancient style hairpins, there is really nothing you can’t think of or do.

But as a rubber stamp player who is new to heat shrinkable film, I would like to help you review the usage and precautions of heat shrinkable film first.

The shrinkage rate of heat shrinkable sheets varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but is roughly in the range of one-quarter to one-sixth. The following tutorial uses Judikins heat shrinkable sheet.

Brand of ink pad for heat shrinkable film:

There are only a few ink pads used for heat shrinkable films, such as Japans tsukinekos StazOn paint, Versa Magic water drop multi-purpose dye ink pad, BRILLIANCE water drop quick-drying dye ink pad,

Mica Gloss Metallic Effects Ink oil-based metallic ink from Judikins in the United States, and CHALK toner pastel ink pads from Clearsnap in the United States are all acceptable.

Among the above ink pads, only StazOn is quick-drying and can be dried immediately after stamping. Although the other types cannot be dried immediately, you can also blow them directly, just be careful not to touch the flower pattern.

Precautions for using heat shrinkable film:

1. Do not handle the shrunk heat shrink sheet directly with your hands, as you may be burned.

2. The heat shrinkable sheet must be blown with a hot air gun. The failure rate of using a hair dryer is very high.

3. No matter how long it takes for the pattern on the heat-shrinkable sheet to be printed, avoid scraping and rubbing with force, as this will cause coloring problems.

4. If you want to use crystal glue or epoxy rubber stamps in the future, please be sure to leave the heat shrink sheet for a period of time before applying it to avoid the pattern being stained.
