It has been a month since I built the fish tank and kept some fish, and they are in good condition. It usually swims around with people and is very active when feeding every day, which shows that the ecological environment is ideal.
Slowly I discovered two problems:
1. Relying on the filtration of plant roots alone seems not enough. After all, a planting tank is quite limited. The ideal situation is to increase the area of ??the planting tank. Currently, I have no plans to do so. I will see if I redesign a larger planting tank in the future.
2. This small pump is very efficient, using only 4 watts of electricity, but this system only uses 1/4 through the flow regulating valve. The water flow rate is small, the pressure of the small pump is high, and it is not good to be overloaded for a long time. A shunt should be made.
So I thought of adding some more diversion and filtration measures, and considered two options: one is to enter a homemade filter after diversion, and part of the dirty water enters the planting tank and part of it enters the filter. Another plan is to put a homemade filter on the outside of the small water pump. After preliminary filtration, part of the dirty water enters the planting tank and the other part directly enters the fish tank. The purpose is to make the water in the fish tank flow and "flowing water does not rot."
In principle, the former is more ideal, but using several filter materials, the effect is not very good, there is no water output, and greater water pressure may be needed, so the latter option is used now. After a week, you can see that the sponge gradually changes color, indicating that it has absorbed a lot of impurities and played a filtering role. Wash the filter material after a while. You can make two types of fish tank filters for just a few dollars, and the results should be good.
This is the original design
Option 1: Add a filter after diverting the flow
Plastic storage tank
Entrance
Export
It’s easy to punch two holes
Put filter material
Here is another method, use a storage tank to punch two holes
Put filter material
Seal the storage jar
After the small water pump is diverted, the upper end enters the planting tank, and the diverted flow enters the homemade filter
Option 2: Filter first and then divert traffic
Still this storage tank, punch some holes in the bottom
Dirty water enters here
Put some pieces of plastic foam
Make your own filterDone
The horizontal water outlet creates an "undercurrent" in the fish tank
The fish is very happy and at ease
