We used to use kraft paper to make book covers when we were kids. Now that many of our children are going to school, do we need to be creative when wrapping books for them? This tutorial will teach you how to "embroider" on kraft paper to add a quaint book cover to the book cover.
Materials required for DIY embroidered book cover:
Ordinary kraft paper;
Books to be bound;
Embroidery pattern;
Orange embroidery thread, embroidery needle, scissors, pencil;
Brown spray paint and self-adhesive tape (optional).
How to make DIY embroidered book cover:
1) Make a kraft paper book cover according to the size of the book. I won’t go into details about this step, you should know it, and you can also find tutorials on this online. Once you're done, you realize that this bookcase is too boring and ordinary, so go ahead and improve it.
2) Spray paint. This step is optional, the purpose is to enrich the background color of the kraft paper. Use brown spray paint to spray a wide decorative stripe on the kraft book cover. Use self-adhesive tape to cover both sides before spray painting. Wait for the spray paint to dry and remove the sticker before proceeding to the next step.
3) Prepare pattern. You can hand-draw or print a pattern of your choice. In order to refresh your mind while reading, let’s print a diagram of the molecular structure of caffeine.
4) Transfer pattern. Before embroidering, we need to rub the caffeine pattern on kraft paper. Here we use the principle of carbon paper to apply a layer of graphite on the back of the caffeine paper pattern with a pencil, and then place the pattern paper on the book cover. The graphite layer is close to the book cover. , use a pencil to trace the caffeine pattern vigorously, and a faint caffeine pattern will appear on the book cover.
5) Book cover cover embroidery. Use orange embroidery thread to embroider the caffeine pattern along the graphite traces on the kraft paper. This step is no different from other embroidery techniques.
6) Embroidery on the corners of the book cover. We found that the corners of the book cover were unsightly, so we still usedOrange embroidery thread is used to embroider a decorative thread on the upper and lower corners of the book cover using the hemming sewing method. Okay, this DIY book cover is finished here.
