Tutorial on DIY Industrial Style Cement Coasters. Nowadays, many families who pursue simplicity prefer a tough and concise decorative style, and industrial style is the one chosen by many people. The following is a DIY industrial style coaster made of cement, which is cool just thinking about it!
Main materials:
Cement plaster water/mixing container/jewelry box/acrylic paint/building blocks
Tools required:
Scotch tape/sandpaper
Paint brush and palette knife
Palette
Production steps:
Step 1:
Materials: About 600 grams of quick-drying cement plaster, water, 2 jewelry boxes 8 cm x 8 cm (3.5 x 3.5 inches), Scotch tape (two sizes), mixing container, small wooden blocks, sandpaper, paint brush, tempering Color knife, painting palette, acrylic paint
Step 2:
In this tutorial I am using a jewelry boxmold. I first wrapped many layers of transparent tape on the outside as a protective film. This is a step that cannot be lazy for the next step
Step 3:
Pour the cement powder into the container, add about 350 ml of water and stir until it becomes a viscous liquid, like yogurt
Step 4:
Then fill the mixed cement into the jewelry box and use a scraper to smooth the surface
Step 5:
Then it’s time to improvise. Take a few small blocks and press them into the cement, but be careful not to press them to the bottom. After 5 minutes, pull up and insert again. Repeat every 5 minutes to avoid sinking in the cement. Be careful not to move left or right in the same groove. After the last 20-30 minutes, cut the edge of the jewelry box to get out the cement. If it is integrated with the jewelry box, wash it with water until it falls off
Step 6:
Use sandpaper to smooth the coaster, then use a brush to clean away the fine particles, and finally paint the grooves with your favorite color
Step 7:
Complete
Step 8:
Brand new coasters are ready! You can call your friends and invite them to a cocktail night, or package them up and give them away as a cool gift!
