Paste anti-stretch paper on the back of the carved leather. Because cowhide is malleable, it is easy to deform after watering, knocking and other process steps. Once the cowhide is deformed It cannot be made into a finished bag. Sticking anti-stretch paper on the back can effectively ensure that the leather remains flat during the engraving process. When choosing anti-stretch paper, choose one that is not easy to degummed, otherwise there will be a layer of degummed on the back of the cowhide that cannot be removed. .
In cowhide Spray water on the surface. If a novice can't control the moisture, you can try it with a piece of cowhide. When the back is slightly permeable, stop applying water and wait for a minute for the cowhide to fully absorb it. During the entire carving process, the cowhide needs to be kept moist, so Replenish water at any time depending on the condition of the cowhide. Moisture control is very important for a leather carving.
