Parents want to record their newborn babys growth by placing their baby against a cute background and taking photos. Designer Benson Chou and his wife Michelle also had fun, but, in his words, they "went too far" with the sophistication of the photos. Over the course of a year, the couple produced 52 "movie posters," each starring son Zoltan (aka Bonbon). These imaginative images depict boys in a variety of situations, from playing Superman to skateboarding. Each work uses only everyday props that the couple has on hand.

Soon the couple realized they had created a new project for themselves, so they committed to taking photos of their son every weekend. That sounds daunting, and Chou and his wife thought so. To prevent themselves from giving up halfway, they set some rules for the project.

One stipulation is that the endeavor should not add stress to their lives. “The day of the shoot, it’s supposed to be fun and we’re all focused on it,” he says. “So we tend to try to come up with a theme the day of the shoot or the day before. That’s why you see a lot of people fromThe reason for the poster. ”

The second rule is to help them be more creative with their shots. They tried to use practical effects to reduce post-production time. "Its more fun to make a stereo speaker out of pot lids and Lego bricks than Photoshop."

Its easy for babies to lose control during photo shoots, so to make sure this doesn't happen, mom and dad set a strict time limit of 30 minutes per session.

At the end of the project, the couple commemorated their hard work by compiling the images into a hardcover book. "This is certainly one of my favorite projects," Chou wrote. But would he do it again? "Sorry, my second child, you may not get the same treatment. Dad is a bit lazy."
