Photographer Michael Davies from Ontario, Canada, has lived in Pangnirtung, a small town close to the Arctic region, for many years and works as a photographer at a small airport. Pangnirtung is only 20 kilometers away from the Arctic Circle. In winter, it is only You will see sunlight in two hours.
On the day they decided to shoot, Michael Davies and his friend Markus drove 45 minutes to a nearby mountain at 1 p.m., just as the sun climbed to the top of the distant hills.
They also prepared many thermos bottles filled with tea. After choosing the opportunity, they began to splash, press the shutter, and take pictures to capture the fantasy colors of pink, orange, blue, and yellow caused by the sun.
Isn’t the final result amazing? The spilled tea at a temperature of -40 degrees formed a ring of radiating ice crystals, which perfectly surrounded the sun, forming this stunning photo.
The perfect finished product cannot be born by pressing the shutter. Before shooting, they also observed all conditions such as wind direction, wind speed, temperature, etc. After careful planning, they can continuously try to capture the perfect picture within a limited time. You also have to endure the low temperature of -40 degrees and the severe cold. The process of pursuing beauty really requires care and perseverance!
