The purpose of photography, the biggest purpose in general, is to preserve the time that will disappear. Whether it is a record of life, a rare moment when friends get together, or the laughter on an anniversary, it is all about memories becoming eternal in a flash. However, the New York duo Jeremy Flote and Cassandra Warner want to take this "stopped time" photography effect to the extreme.

The name of this series of works is called Colourant, and it is true that "color" is the protagonist of each photo. Taking advantage of the vast and uninhabited scenery, he threw paints of various colors into the air, and used a shutter time of 1/3500th of a second to capture micro-moments that cannot even be seen by the naked eye.

Paints sway in the air to create lively and changeable lines and patterns. None of the photos are processed with photoshop. The time in microseconds and the "dynamic graffiti" that disappear in a blink of an eye become eternity.

The bright paint colors match the desolation of the background, and the strong contrast seems to emphasize the passage of time.
