Traveling through a hundred years: Old World War I photos and creative DIY in real cities

To commemorate the First World War, photographer Peter Macdiarmid collected many photos from the time and overlaid these photos into todays real-life scenes. Old photos are fused with modern times, and you can see the changes in the streets of European cities 100 years ago and 100 years later.

French City Hall bell tower. Europe was the main battlefield of World War I. Although the date of the old photo of the destroyed bell tower is not known, the bell tower was destroyed on October 21, 1914.
