HERZ’s vegetable tanned leather Cambridge bag is handmade. Let’s first introduce what vegetable tanned leather is. Vegetable tanned leather is also called leather carving leather, tree paste (cake) leather, castanoate leather, belt leather. The color is undyed natural color. It has small elasticity, absorbs water and easily becomes soft. It has plasticity and is easy to be shaped. The color ranges from the natural color to light flesh pink. to light brown, most suitable for leather carving crafts.
Cut the materials according to the paper pattern.
2. Drill holes for the main components, and shape the two side skins with wet water (mark a 5mm line with the edger and fold it along the line). Pay attention to the length and width to be consistent with the front and rear pieces
It is customary to make the handle part first and draw lines. 3mm is the punching line and 5mm is the decorative line
Punch holes and bang bang bang...
Edge cutting~
Apply edge sealing liquid to the two sides that are not to be bonded, and sand them semi-dry.
Uniform gluing~
clips to serve~
sewing done
Sand it with 10 grit sandpaper and apply edge sealing fluid. Smooth it out~ a little slowly. After that, it is the same sequence, marking, punching, cutting, edge bonding and polishing~
Cover combination~ Sew one side first, then put the handle on, and then sew the other side. Then sew on the buckle
Finished bag flap and back part
combination~! There is a problem here. The thread should not be sewn on the outermost stitch. If it breaks, it will not be good. Improve it next time~
Install the lock base of the front pocket. First determine the position according to the drawing, and then open the door. I used a small screwdriver to change it in one stroke. It is easy to use (I don’t tell ordinary people) = =!
The installation of the 15 base is completed.
Cut two round pieces of pig skin and stick them on the back to prevent the metal pieces from scratching the phone or something.
At this time, the side skin has dried. Punch the hole and align the left side with the first hole of the pocket.
Use needle positioning, bonding-suture
When sewing to the last side, first calculate the hole position/length, cut off the excess part and then sew.
Apply edge sealing liquid and polish. Because No. 3 is used for trimming, it looks rounded. If you don’t like it, you can chamfer without trimming.
Sew the front pocket to the front piece~
This time, additional side blocks are added to prevent the contents of the bag from falling out when it is tilted, and also to make the bag cover look more upright. Punch the holes on one side of the side skin first, and then drill holes on the side block for later use.
Glue and sew the same as the front pocket
When sewing to the bottom edge, mark the center point and install the bottom sheet and foot nails. If you want it to be stronger, you can sew two more lines on the left and right.
is still sewn to the last side to determine the length, and the excess part is cut off. But don’t forget to punch holes here, as it will be difficult to sew once it’s sewn up.
After sewing here, combine it with the back piece, then seal the edges, add the side pieces and D-button ears. The main part of the package is complete
The following is the lock installation tutorial~The preparation materials are as shown in the picture (all edges have been polished)
Insert the leather into the mortise lock, and use an awl to determine the position of the screw on the leather
Use a punch of appropriate diameter to punch the hole
Put on the belt loop and install the lock
