Tutorial on making your own cosmetic bag/storage bag. Every girl should have one. Put all kinds of cosmetics, combs, mirrors, hairpins, etc. in it. The world is finally peaceful~~~ I’m excited, I want it. Well, then follow the detailed illustrated tutorial below to hand-make a personalized cosmetic bag/storage bag!
Choose canvas as the fabric. You can also use other materials. If the fabric is thin, it is recommended to add auxiliary cotton or adhesive lining between the fabric and the lining. The size of this cosmetic bag/storage bag is 18 length × 11 width × 10 height (cm), with a 20cm zipper design. If you feel it is not big enough, please adjust the size yourself.
1. Cut two pieces of fabric and two pieces of lining based on the 1:1 pattern to make the top and bottom of the bag respectively. After cutting, cut a small opening in the midpoint of the fabric to mark it.
2. Cut the lining according to the size marked on the pattern cutting diagram. Make 3 pieces of lining each (A, B, C), and then mark the midpoint of the upper and lower sides of each piece.
3. Cut two pieces of lining according to the pattern of the handle, sew the front side inward with a seam allowance of 0.7 cm, leaving an opening on the side. After completing the sewing, trim the seam allowance to a width of about 0.3 cm, and then turn it over to the front. , sew the opening and add topstitching, and set the handle aside for later use.
4. Take fabric B and prepare two 20 cm long zippers (if you have a longer double-headed zipper, it will be more convenient, one can also be used), and install the two zippers on B using the butt method. on the edge. First, put the two zippers face down, with the zipper head (when closed) facing inward. Before fixing the zipper, first fold the inner end of the zipper. The folding method is as follows: Fold the zipper at a 45-degree angle to the opposite side.
5. Fold it again so that the end and the zipper teeth are 90 degrees vertical. After folding, align the folding position with the midpoint of the edge of fabric B and fix it.
6. Similarly, fold the head of the other zipper and fix it.
7. Then lay the lining B (face down), align the edges of the fabric, zipper, and lining from the middle to both sides and fix them with bead stitches. After fixing, use a 1/4-inch seam allowance to sew the edges.
8. After sewing, divide the zipper, lining and lining into two parts, and add an open thread on the inside of the fabric.
9. Now install the other half of the zipper between lining A and lining A. Just repeat steps 4-8 and replace B with A.
11. Then take the C fabric and lining, align the edges with one end of the zipper one by one, and then sew with a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
12. Lay out fabric C and lining with the front side facing out, and press an open thread on the inside of fabric C.
13. Next, sew C and the other end of the zipper together. As shown in the picture below, first pull the C lining to the back and align the other end of the zipper with the C fabric.
14. Roll up the middle part of the zipper to allow the C lining to cross over and rejoin the C fabric.
15. Align and fix the edges of the three layers, and then sew.
16. Pull out the middle roll, and press open thread on the inner edge of the corresponding C. The middle part of the box is completed, and the back part of the box is below.
17. Make the top and bottom of the box. Here I use the method of inlaying rolling strips to decorate the surroundings. The rolling strip fabric is cut diagonally 2.2 cm wide, fold the strips in half, and wrap a cotton rope in the middle. Align and fix the edges facing outward along the edge of the oval fabric outline. After making a circle, overlap the rolling strip by 3 cm, trim off the excess length, and cut both ends into flat ends. Do not overlap the cotton ropes, just enough to connect them.
18. Fold one end of the rolling strip into the width of one seam, wrap the other end in the middle, and embed the cotton rope to fix it together.
19. Use the single-sided presser foot to baste a circle around the edge with a width of 1/4 inch.
20. After the two oval-shaped fabrics are inlaid with rolling strips, we sew them to the middle part and fix them first. Before fixing, mark the midpoint on both sides of the middle part, so that when fixing, the ellipse will be first It is more convenient to align the original 4 mark points of the shape with the 4 corresponding mark points in the middle part, and then fix them at other positions.
21. Sew with a 1/4-inch seam allowance. After completing the stitching, cut some teeth on the seam allowance to make it more rounded to the front.
22. The last step is to install the ceiling and floor inside the box. Before that, sew the handle to the top of the box.
23. Cut two pieces of hard adhesive lining according to the dotted outline of the oval paper pattern, iron them on the middle of the back of the two pieces of lining fabric, then bastise the edge of the lining fabric in a circle, and tighten the thread ends Let the edges of the lining fold in naturally, or you can iron them again to smooth the folds.
24. Use hand sewing to sew two pieces of lining fabric to the bottom and top of the box respectively, so that they cover the raw edges of the edges.
The simple and practical cosmetic bag/storage bag is finished, let’s see if it is enough to store the sundries!
