You can make some super cute gnomes out of socks, old clothes, pillows, and even shoulder pads. Well, thats what I'm here to cover. A very cute DIY Christmas dwarf. It’s not too difficult to make with zero basic knowledge. The shape looks a bit like Santa Claus. If you are interested, please read on!~
Materials Tools: socks, cotton stuffing, scissors, thin white fabric or transparent stockings (dwarf nose), old shirts and shoulder pads (hats and shoes), needle/thread/sewing machine, bells or mini ornaments.
Take 2 socks and roll them into a ball.
Tuck in tube socks.
Fold the stockings once, twice, then a third time.
This will create a head with a beard tucked into the mouth area.
Put 3 pieces of cotton into the folded sock to make a beard.
Cut a round piece of thin white fabric, about 2 inches in size. No need for a perfect circle!
Thread thread along the edge and pull the thread tight to create a bowl shape.
Fill the small bowl with some cotton.
Pull the thread tight and sew it shut. You now have a nose.
Sew the nose to the sock just below the pleat, through the beard.
I mostly use old tops and skirts to make hats. Take a large piece of scrap fabric and wrap it around the dwarfs head, making sure its large enough. Fold the material in half, inside out. Take the straight sides and draw a triangle. Sew along the diagonal edge, leaving a seam of about 3mm.
Turn the hat inside out and stuff it loosely with some cotton.
Fold the brim of the hat inward.
Put the hat on the dwarfs head so that it touches his nose.
Sew a bell or mini ornament onto the end of the pointed hat.
Its almost done.
Don't forget your shoes. Cut out the fabric your shoes will be made of, as well as a piece of cotton the same size as your shoes.
Stuff the shoes with cotton.
Sew the edges of the shoes.
Sew the shoes to the bottom of the dwarf.
These dwarves will stand on their own weight~
