Beeswax is a substance secreted by four pairs of wax glands under the abdomen of worker bees. It is made of fine materials and is the most harmless candle material. In the process of making this candle, you can also add your favorite essential oils to it, so that its fragrance can bring you inner joy. The steps to make this candle are very simple, so come and DIY one yourself.
Materials:
-Beeswax
-Candle wick
-Viscose
-Fragrance essential oils
-Candle Flask
-Thermometer
-Small wooden stick
-Cans, metal cans, etc.
Preparation method:
Buy some beeswax online and break it into small pieces so it melts more easily. Place the beeswax crumbs into a candle flask and then into a container of water. Heat the water to create a double melting device. Since containers of melted candles are very difficult to clean, it’s best to use a container specifically designed for melted candles so you don’t have to worry about how to clean it every time. Place a thermometer in the flask and turn off the heat when the temperature reaches 145 degrees. Do not let the temperature exceed 175 degrees. While they are melting, you can prepare the container for the candle.
Many different types of containers can be used to make candles. Lubricated candles will form different shapes according to the shape of the container. Here the author chooses a cute egg tart tray as the container. The first step in preparing the container is to clean it, then glue the candle wick to the bottom of the container, wrap the remaining wick around a small wooden stick, and then support it with two cups as shown in the picture. Place a piece of wax paper under the prepared container and place it on a board that is not afraid of being hot (you can use a cutting board).
When the candle melts, carefully pour it into the container you prepared. Be sure not to burn yourself. Don't overfill, leaving some space at the top will look better. If you use a larger container, the poured candle will shrink a bit as it cools, so its best to leave some remaining candle pieces so you can melt some more to fill it up at the end. Finally, cool the candle completely, leave it overnight, and then cut off the excess wick. That’s it!
If you would like to add some other fragrance to the candles, you can add some essential oils to them after they have melted and reached temperature. In fact, the natural scent of beeswax is also very pleasant. Do more experiments and make your favorite candle~
