British housewife Kate Lilly’s creative DIY 3D Christmas greeting card can be improved on this basis. For example, on Valentine’s Day, she made a 3D Valentine’s Day greeting card. Once you know the general production principle, it is actually very simple to use freely. If you like DIY, give it a try~ Attach a handmade 3D greeting card to the gift you send! No matter what kind of gift you send it with, it will double the surprise for the friend who receives the gift.
Materials required: cardboard, utility knife, pen, ruler (preferably an iron ruler), cutting mat, needle or sharp object (for scoring), double-sided tape, printed template (at the bottom of this article Appendix)
Production steps:
1. Select the pattern template you want and print it out (it is recommended to use high-quality colored paper, not cardboard), and then use a pen knife or blade to carefully cut the lines. (The green line marked in the downloaded template needs to be cut)
2. Use a needle to lightly score the part to be folded to facilitate folding.
3. The side with the printed template is the back. Turn it over and do the origami work.
4. Experiment to see if the pattern inside can pop up. You need to be patient and careful here. If it doesn't pop up, make corrections.
5. Use another color of cardboard to stick to the outside of the card. (It is recommended to use double-sided tape to slightly stick the four sides)
6. Make the printed envelope.
7.Draw your favorite pattern or add some designs, and you’re done!
