Tutorial on making fabric paper boxes
- The finished product we are going to make is a fabric pocket tissue cover 11cm long x 8cm wide x 2cm high.
- Prepare fabric measuring 15cm x 43cm.
- Fold from the middle position, with a seam allowance of about 0.8 cm at the yellow line in the picture below, and 4 cm at each end (the reserved unsewn position is the paper extraction opening).
- Fold the corners inward and iron them flat. Draw a line (yellow line) about 10 cm from the paper extraction port.
- Fold the paper opening line inward 5cm, as shown in the red dotted line in the picture below.
- Next, draw a line 10cm from the right end (or 5.5cm from the left end).
- Cut the fabric into 15 cm x 43 cm.
- In the middle half, the seam allowance is about 0.8 cm, and the seam allowance is 4 cm (yellow line) at both ends.
- Fold the seam allowance forward using the perforations and iron.
For the next procedure, draw a line (yellow line) 10 cm from the punch hole. By the way, the left side of the yellow line is 10.5 cm. It is 5mm longer due to the 5mm entrance overlap.
- Fold the inside so that the yellow line fits into the return opening on the right end. Leave 5cm entrance.
- Next, draw a line 10cm from the right end (or 5.5cm from the left end).
- Fold it to a width of 10cm like this.
- Overlap 5mm at center. The folding effect is as shown below.
- Fold both ends inward 1 cm.
- Fold 1cm to the right and left, so the folded width is 8cm.
- Lay the folded fabric flat and sew both ends so that the seam allowance is 1 cm (red line).
- Turn it over through the return opening.
- Turn it over and smooth it out.
- Put the paper towel into the prepared paper towel cover, and the fabric paper box tutorial is completed.
