Button classification:Buttons are divided into four-hole buttons, two-hole buttons and buttons with feet. Four-hole buttons are the most common buttons. To sew this type of button, you can use double rows of parallel stitching or cross stitching; two-hole buttons have only two holes on the button surface and are often used as shirt buttons; threading holes for buttons with feet On the back of the buttons, these buttons have rich styles and are highly decorative.

Sewing thread selection: When sewing buttons, it is recommended to use special button thread, which is thicker in diameter and stronger than ordinary sewing thread. If you use ordinary sewing thread, you will need to sew several more times when performing the following steps. Button threads come in a variety of colors. Try to choose a color that is the same as or close to the button body.

Four-hole button parallel stitching method:

1) Depending on the thickness of the thread, use double thread or single thread stitching. Knot the thread and pick a stitch at the point where you are going to sew the buttons on the garment;

2) Thread the needle and thread into the hole on the back of the button and out from the front of the button;

3) Insert the button through the hole on the side and then into the clothes;

4) Pull the seam under the clothes, keeping a 3mm gap between the clothes and buttons;

5) Loosely pass the needle thread in and out between the two holes and the clothes 3 to 4 times, and then go in and out of the other two holes in the same way;

6) Use needle and thread to wrap the thread between the button and the clothes 3 to 4 times;

7) When winding the last turn, let the needle thread pass through the middle of the coil;

8) Use a little force to tighten the coil;

9) Thread the needle and thread into the clothes and tie a seam-stop knot at the bottom of the clothes.

Four-hole button cross stitching method:

The four holes eliminate the parallel stitching method mentioned above, and you can also use the cross stitching method. This stitching method is mostly used to sew decorative buttons.

Double-hole button stitching method:

Similar to the four-hole buckle, it is threaded and wound around the thread feet multiple times to fix it, and finally tied.

Button sewing method with feet:

1) Thread tyingKnot, pick a stitch on the fabric where the button is sewn;

2) Pass the needle and thread through the small hole on the back of the button;

3) Insert the needle again at the initial needle insertion position;

4) Leave a 1cm gap between the button and the fabric;

5) Repeat the above steps 2 to 3 times, and use needle and thread to wrap the thread between the button and the fabric 1 to 2 times;

6) Pass the needle and thread through the back of the fabric, tie the seam stop knot, and complete the button sewing.
