To make a belt by hand, you only need to cut a piece of beautiful webbing and sew your favorite metal buckles on both ends of the webbing. By choosing different webbing and metal buckles, you can DIY beautiful belts with different characteristics.
Materials for making belt:
1) Ribbon: Any kind of beautiful textile ribbon is acceptable, such as polyester ribbon, jacquard ribbon, nylon ribbon, canvas ribbon, twill satin ribbon, etc.;
2) Metal buckles: D-shaped buckles, fish-shaped buckles, oval buckles, etc.
Steps to make a belt:
1) Cut the webbing. For child belts, webbing length = waist + 5 inches; for adult belts, webbing length = waist + 7 inches.
2) Sew the edges. The cut webbing has raw edges at both ends. Sew the edges with a zigzag stitch to avoid fraying later.
3) Install the metal buckle. Insert a pair of D-shaped buckles into one end of the webbing and sew two thick sewing threads to fix it; use the same sewing thread on the other end of the webbing and sew it in three folds to fix it.
