In 2012, Zaria visited Greenland and witnessed firsthand the huge impact of climate warming on the local ice and snow landscape. Later, he used colored chalk to paint a series of ice and snow scenes he saw. The glaciers and oceans with exquisite details and vivid colors were almost fake. The works showed a sense of desolation and loneliness.
