Painting is really a craft. If you have not systematically learned how to draw, it will be very difficult to draw beautiful works. I’m not good at sketching, so I shouldn’t have any problem drawing a small decorative flower. Look at the two daisies blooming on the cover of the notebook. They are plump, bright, fresh and natural. Even if I say this notebook was like this when I bought it, few people would not believe it. In fact, these two delicate daisies are very easy to complete. Even people without any painting foundation can do it in 20 minutes.
DIY decorative flower materials:
Acrylic paint: green, brown, yellow, white (Americana); 1 round pen No. 6, a flat pen No. 8; color paper (can be replaced by milk carton); thick paper towels (use another color each time Wash the pen when you use it. After washing, dry the pen on a thick paper towel)
Comma drawing method:
The comma brushwork is one of the most commonly used brushstrokes in painting. Practice the comma brushwork before drawing daisies. Note that you don't need to turn the pen when you first start practicing. First draw a straight comma. The daisies below were drawn using the comma technique without turning the pen.
Left one: Place the pen (round pen or flat pen) dipped in paint on the paper at an angle of 45 degrees to the horizontal line. Press down slightly to open the pen tip.
Second from left: You can use your thumb and index finger to rotate slightly in the direction shown by the arrow in the picture when writing.
Third from left: Use the pen as if writing a comma, and at the same time slowly lift the pen.
Fourth from left: Rendering of comma strokes. The effects of flat and round pens are different.
Steps to draw a daisy
Daisy 1
Acrylic paint has strong adhesion and can be painted in many places. This time I drew it on my notepad.
Daisy 2
Pour the paint onto the palette paper, one drop is enough.
Daisy 3
If you are not sure about the location, you can first use chalk or pencil to draw concentric circles to determine the approximate size and location. Divide a circle into 4 arcs and draw 3 petals inside each arc. The circle inside the concentric circles is the size of the center of the flower
Daisy 4, Daisy 5
Start using the comma technique just now to draw the white petals. Use a size 6 round pen, white paint. Start writing on the outer circle of the concentric circles and end on the inner circle. Note that the upper petals are slightly larger and the lower petals are slightly smaller to reflect the angle of the flower.
Daisy 6
Use yellow paint to draw the center of the flower in the middle of the white petals.
Daisy 7
Dip a small amount of brown paint with the corner of a flat pen and remove the excess paint on the paper.
Daisy 8
Paint brown paint underneath the yellow center. (Some varieties of daisies have brown centers when they grow old, but some don’t, so you can ignore this step)
Daisy 9, Daisy 10
Dip green and yellow at the same time.
Daisy 11
Use a shorter comma stroke to draw the leaves. Freely adjust position and color.

Done!
