Of course leaves are indispensable for making leaf rubbings. Let’s collect some leaves of various shapes to prepare~
Collect more leaves of different shapes, and the effect will be richer~
Teaching aid preparation
Leaves, ink, felt, gouache, Korean rice paper, pen
First of all, we select the leaves that are suitable for production, and choose those with deep stems and leaves behind, so that the printing can be printed more clearly in the subsequent rubbings~
Let’s follow the teacher to make it! First, apply gouache on the back of the selected leaves. Be sure to apply it completely. The pen should not be stained with water, only gouache.
Then you need to rub it on Korean rice paper. Ordinary rice paper is too thin and will show through and break, so the choice of paper is also very important.
When rubbing, you can repeat the printing twice. First rub red and then rub yellow. Light colors are better and the contrast is larger. You can add a little white to the color to brighten it, and the overall effect will be brighter.
After all the leaves are printed, let’s draw another vase! (When making geometric decorative lines with gouache, remember not to add water!)
Next, we turn the painting upside down and place it on the felt.
Use a large brush to apply ink on the back of the painting starting from the upper left corner. Do not add water to the ink, because adding water will make the painting gray when it dries.
After brushing, cover it with another felt.
Hold the two felts together and turn them over (the purpose of the felts is not to absorb water but for convenience when turning them over) and slowly open themWith a piece of felt on top, a miracle happened~
The leaf rubbing and heavy color painting is completed. Is the effect great?
Note:One last thing to note is that when making back-dyed encaustic paintings, you need to add some water to the ink~
