The cherry blossom tree is one of my favorite spring trees, soothing to my heart with its brightly colored flowers and sweet scent. This beautiful cherry blossom craft is a great idea to celebrate spring.
While this tutorial is perfect for elementary school students, you'll also find its easy for preschoolers, too. Colorful combination of cherry blossoms and blue and white porcelain vases, the end result is stunning!~
You will need to prepare:
Light blue cardboard (12" x 18")
Blue marker
Black pigment
Brush
Dark pink tissue
Light pink tissue
Glue
Scissors
Glue stick
1. Draw a vase on a piece of white cardboard.
2. Use a blue marker to design and decorate the template to resemble a Chinese blue and white porcelain vase. We experimented with a variety of straight, thick, wavy lines, flowers, stems and leaves. We also painted some flowers.
Tips for young children:
To help children avoid any design mistakes, it may be helpful to have them first lightly trace their design on the vase with a pencil. Once they are happy with their design, they can trace it and color it with a blue marker.
3. After you finish decorating the vase, cut it out with scissors.
4. Use a glue stick to glue the back of the vase, and then glue it to the bottom of the light blue cardboard.
5. Use a paintbrush and black paint to draw the branches on the top of the vase. We use acrylic paint and let it dry completely.
Another way to draw branches is to blow paint, which is to drop black paint on cardboard and then blow the paint to make branches.
6. Cut squares from light pink tissue paper and dark pink tissue paper.
7. After the black paint is completely dry, add dots of glue around the cherry blossom branches.
8. Crinkle up the squares of light pink and dark pink paper towels so they look like little cherry blossoms and place them over the glue spots. A beautiful paper sticker is completed~
