Most of us pay little attention to everyday household items, but San Francisco-based artist Eric Geusz turns kitchen utensils, stationery, and other mundane items into spectacular spaceship designs capable of exploring the galaxy. He obviously doesn't lack talent or imagination, but it takes a lot of time to imagine ordinary objects as various spaceships.
The talented artist, whose day job is a software engineer, draws inspiration from popular space-themed movies like Star Wars, as well as science fiction cartoonists and illustrators including Moebius, Peter Elson, and Chris Foss . "I also love space technology from the '50s and early '60s," Gus shared. "I love the photos of old Soviet rocket parts, and the old futuristic concept paintings they used to use for their space programs."
This futuristic influence is present in every one of Guss spacecraft drawings. In one piece, the artist reimagined eggbeaters and pepper shakers as space capsules. In another work, Gus transformed an eight-sided die into a polyhedral lander. He even envisioned a bottle of hot sauce as an epic intergalactic ship.
