Artist Enrique Bernal, aka Kike, found a way to bring his pencil sketches to life. Using pencil and pen, he creates realistic sketches of everything from human portraits to animals. Recently, however, Bernal has added extra effects to his illustrations that are stunning.
After completing the pencil sketch, Bernal added artificial lighting to his drawing using the application Medibang Paint. This digital "glow" mimics an unknown fluorescent light source. In some of his works, the artist uses the technique to outline peoples faces and bodies, as if they were warmed by a mysterious light. In other cases, Bernal makes even more use of software to add fantastic effects, such as shiny butterflies and glowing tattoos. These creative choices seem to add another layer to Bernals already brilliant sketches, a luminous mystery that makes these illustrations leap off the page.
