The first time I saw Ben Sacks signature pen drawings, at first glance I thought they were black and white photos printed from the Internet. In fact, these drawings were all drawn by Sack with a stylus pen, one stroke at a time.
Sacks works are like special spaces between reality and fantasy. The two-dimensional paintings are full of three-dimensionality. The arrangement of streets and buildings in the city seems to be delicate and realistic, but it is also a bit surreal. Perhaps because Sack traveled around the world on a cruise ship from January to April this year, traces of the port cities he visited during this trip can be seen in his latest work.
