It is said that 64 liters of tears will be shed in a persons life. What would it look like if all these tears were collected? Keita Suzuki, a product designer at Tokyo Product Design Denter Suzuki was invited to participate in the design of a series of chairs with the theme of "Design x Science x Chair" at the invitation of the "Surno Forest" project produced by NHK Educational Television and supervised by Galileo Workshop, and proposed "TEAR DPOP CHAIR / "涙の Chair" is a teardrop chair concept that uses 64 liters of water to create a transparent teardrop-shaped seat.
64 liters of tears gather the joys, sorrows and joys of a life, just like a huge crystal clear water drop falling on the grass. The designer turned the tears into a teardrop chair. Made of vinyl plastic only 0.3mm thick, it seems to be in direct contact with water and provides an experience as if you are sitting on water, which is the biggest feature of the teardrop chair. Children can sit or play on the teardrop chair and experience the wonderful feeling between liquid and solid states.
The transparent teardrop chair is very natural and romantic when placed on the lawn. The designers original idea was to design a chair product that would not damage the lawn or break the branches and leaves of plants. His design concept was to respect the environment and try his best to May reduce the environmental impact of products. Based on the concept of environmental protection, in addition to the 64-liter teardrop chair, the designer also produced teardrop chairs with the same volume of water as the water in polar bears, adults, and children, which are presented in different sizes.
