In some poor and water-scarce countries, people’s drinking water problems have become very prominent. Even though untreated outdoor water may appear clean, it may actually contain many bacteria and harmful substances. This "DrinkPure" water filter device developed by ETH Zurich can solve the problem of drinking water outdoors very well.
This water filter device that looks like a top is composed of three layers. The first layer can filter out large particles of impurities such as sand and soil; the second layer is activated carbon, which can absorb odors. , heavy metals, chemical lamps; the third layer is a filter membrane, which can filter out bacteria in the water. It can be directly installed on the mouth of an ordinary plastic bottle, and the water filtered through three layers can meet drinking water standards. The most important thing is that DrinkPure is low-cost, simple to manufacture and easy to use, making it suitable for remote water-scarce areas and outdoor use. The first batch of DrinkPure produced is planned to be delivered to Africa in January 2015 to solve the drinking water problem of local people.
