Keele University launches ultra-strong biosensing adhesive tape

Scientists from the Zoological Research Center of Kiel University in Germany took inspiration from the body structure and movement habits of geckos, insects and other animals, and recently developed a super sticky tape that is enough to hang an adult on on the ceiling. The tape is silicone with microscopic hair-like structures that is not only super sticky but can be reused thousands of times without losing its effectiveness. The research team is still continuing to investigate other organisms, such as beetles and snakes, in order to get inspiration from their biological structures to develop other products with better performance, lower cost and wider application range.
