A holiday cabin hangs on a cliff on the southwest coast of Australia. It leans against the cliff on one side and faces the sea with 180° panoramic glass on the other side. However, it still takes a certain amount of courage to stand inside and enjoy the incomparable sea view in front of you.
This modular holiday cabin building was designed by the design team MODSCAPE. Their design pursuit was to find extreme ways to fix the house, and their inspiration came from barnacles attached to the hull of the boat. This holiday cabin is all fixed on the rock with industrial steel bars. It is divided into 5 floors, with vertical elevators running through each floor. The uppermost floor is the entrance and garage of the entire cabin, and the lower floors are the kitchen, dining room, master room, and guest room. The design of the entire cabin is mainly simple, there are no extra single rooms, and the space utilization is very high. The 180° full glass surround gives the entire sea view an unobstructed view.
As for the safety of the cabin, it should be the most important issue that designers should consider before conceiving. To be honest, if you really stand inside and think that this hut is hanging on the cliff wall, you will definitely feel uneasy and always think that it will fall down, but you still have the mood to enjoy the sea view.
