Many design inspirations come from "real objects" in nature. Of course, some products incorporate virtual elements from TV series or movies, or even materialize them. Grovemade wooden speakers are made of walnut or maple. Their unique appearance incorporates two completely different creative minds: "Alien" designer H. R. Giger and "the greatest American architect" Frank Lloyd Wright.
Grovemade, headquartered in Portland, USA, enlisted local designer Joey Roth to contribute his unique sound design talents. Roth is famous for his special combination of materials. He once added different elements such as ceramics and steel to speaker designs, and was reported by foreign websites. Therefore, his exploration of the senses other than sound, as well as his passion and persistence, are naturally not mentioned. .
For this product, he decided to use American black walnut and maple wood, combined with stainless steel, leather and natural cork, to complete this functional carving. The cross-section of the speaker is reminiscent of a long, abnormally shaped horn, and its appearance is somewhat similar to that of a nautilus. However, this weird shape is not meant to impress the public, but to reduce the sound generated by parallel walls and flat surfaces.Sound distortion.
Roth is very grateful to Grovemade for its computer cutting technology and related software assistance in making this conch speaker dream come true. He mentioned: "Usually, my audio samples have to compromise with reality. However, with Grovemade partners, With help, these samples were finally successfully formed."
The 8.75-inch-tall (approximately 22 cm) Conch speaker weighs only 1.75 pounds and weighs less than a kilogram, and is connected by RCA terminals, making its system compatible with most audio equipment and the sound is powerful. Weak, it is controlled by a metal knob that is easy to touch~
Currently officialConch speakers are being sold online. For those who are interested, there are two versions to choose from.
