How to identify and remove clothing stains

Clothing stains can be divided into three major categories:

1) Water-soluble (stains that are soluble in water, such as soy sauce, coffee, etc.);

2) Oily stains (oil-containing stains, such as lipstick, ballpoint pen ink);

3) Insoluble stains (stains that are insoluble in water and oil, such as chewing gum, etc.).

How to identify whether a clothing stain is water-soluble or oil-based:

You can put a drop of water on the stain. If the water can penetrate into the stain, it is a water-soluble stain.

How to identify and remove clothing stains

Principles for removing stains from clothing:

1) Remove it immediately. The longer it takes, the harder it will be to remove. Most water-soluble stains can be removed by washing with water; 2) Do not wipe, as wiping may damage the clothes. The best way is to Place a towel under the clothes and press gently to let the towel absorb the stain; 3) Start removing the stain from the outside. If you start from the center of the stain, the stain will spread outward and stain the clothes.

How to deal with different stains on clothing:

1) Sauce. Use paper towels to completely absorb the water from the stain, then use a toothbrush dipped in neutral detergent and pat gently.

2) Mud. After the mud is completely dry, gently brush off the mud with a toothbrush, then dip the toothbrush in neutral detergent and pat it gently. Some mud contains oily substances and requires the use of detergent.

3) Gravy. Add neutral detergent to warm water and press gently with a toothbrush or cotton to remove stains. If there are stains left after washing, you can use bleach to treat them.

4) Lipstick. Use a cloth dipped in volatile oil or alcohol and press lightly.

5) Ballpoint pen ink. Use a cloth dipped in the alcohol-water solution and press gently.

6) Blood stains. Blood stains, milk, and eggs all contain protein, so hot water cannot be used. Wash with clean water, or cut the white radish and wipe the blood stains with the cut.

7) Coffee. Dip in lemon juice and wipe gently, then rinse with water to remove coffee stains.
