All you need to make a handmade rubber band powered toy car is two beer bottle caps and a little bit of paper! It only has two wheels, but it runs as fast as a rat, making it hard for your eyes to keep up! It’s simple and fun Bottle cap DIY, kids, take the time to try it!~
Materials and tools: two bottle caps, rubber bands, string, paper, tape, candles, nails, hammer, toothpicks, knife.
Use a hammer and nail to punch a hole in the center of the bottle cap.
Remember to place something underneath so as not to damage the table or floor.
Both beer bottle caps should be treated this way.
Take a piece of paper and cut out a long strip.
Then roll it up with a pencil.
Then take out the tape and stick it on.
Paping the entire paper tube together will not only fix it, but also look good.
Make it into a round straw shape about 5cm long.
Use a lighter to burn the blade.
Cut a small piece of candle and soften the sides.
Pull out the small piece of candle as shown in the picture.
Use a lighter to burn the tip of the nail and pierce the center of the candle to make a hole.
Get a candle like this.
Thread a string through a rubber band, hold both ends of the rubber band and pass it through the hole in a bottle cap. Place a small piece of toothpick to secure the rubber band to one side of the bottle cap.
Thread the string through the paper roll.
Pass the candle through the hole in the second bottle cap.
Pull the rubber band through the hole in the candle and place a toothpick on the end as well.
NoteNote that the length of the toothpick on the side of one bottle cap should be smaller than the diameter of the bottle cap, and the toothpick on the other bottle cap should not be cut off.
Rotate the complete toothpick to create tension in the rubber band.
Put it on the ground, let go, and it will start running under the action of the rubber band power system~
