Coke bottle handmade DIY self-watering flowerpot

I have shared the idea of ??making flowerpots from Coke bottles before, but flowerpots that can water themselves are relatively rare. Let’s make this kind of flower pot together, so you don’t have to worry if you forget to water your plants next time.

Making materials: large Coke bottles, soil, cotton thread

The first step is to cut the bottle in half. You can do this with a knife. Then use a nail and hammer to drill a hole in the bottle cap.

The second step is to tie the rope into a knot and pass it through the bottle cap. The length of the rope can be adjusted by yourself. diyjucom

The third step is to screw the cap back on. Attach the two parts of the bottle like in the picture.

The fourth step is to fill it with water and soil. The water is in the bottom half of the bottle and the soil is in the top half of the bottle. Moisture is automatically transferred to the soil through the cotton rope. When the soil absorbs enough nutrients, it will naturally stop receiving moisture from the cotton rope.

If you want to make it more beautiful, you can paint the outside of the bottle or wrap a hemp rope around it. After a while, the water becomes turbid, and you can also remove the lower part to change the water.
