Illustration of making a polyhedral rubber band toy ball
- Prepare 30 rubber bands (it is best not to use thin rubber bands, etc.), cut the rubber bands, and tie a knot about 1cm from both ends of the rubber bands. (As shown in the yellow arrow in the photo)
- Cut the straw to about 10.5cm, cut two 1cm slits at each end and snap in the rubber bands like in the photo.
- Make sure the straw cutouts are on the extensions at both ends.
- We will make a total of 30 parts. This time I prepared 3 colors of straws.
- (First, be sure to take out a green part)
Place the rubber bands in a consistent orientation and make them into a pentagon.
- Connect as shown in the picture below, so that one section of the straw is stuck on the rubber band of another straw. In this way, you can create a pentagon of pentagons. (Pay attention to the direction of the arrow)
- (Prepare 5 pieces in black)
Place the black one on the green two thirds (red star) and make two thirds of the triangle. Please also point the shawl inwards at this time.
- Similarly, connect the remaining four black pieces together. Follow the direction of the yellow arrow of the green pentagon, making the same for the triangle (red arrow). Continue doing this according to the previous process for the rest.
- (Prepare 10 pieces of red)
Next time will make a pentagon with two new reds.
- Follow the green and black directions (yellow arrow) and continue stabbing (black arrow).
- Similarly, connect the remaining 8 red bars.
- Next, make a triangle with black and two adjacent reds. (5 places in total)
- From here it will probably be round, once you attach a circle it will probably fall off. At this time, it should be fixed with transparent tape. Remove the scotch tape when finished. .
- (Prepare 5 pieces in black)
Make a triangle with two reds and a new black.
- Similarly, connect the remaining four black ones.
- (These are the last five green pieces)
Make a pentagon with 2 red and 2 black, and 1 new green.
- Similarly, connect the remaining 4 greens.
- And make two triangles, black and two adjacent green ones.
- Then, it becomes a pentagon like this.
- Done. A triangular polyhedron surrounding a pentagon, its a very magical shape.
