Medals have always been childrens favorite. When they complete a task, isn't it very meaningful for us to reward them with a handmade cartoon medal? The production department here teaches you how to make a cartoon Jingle Cat medal using cans and felt. Let’s learn together.
How to do it
Part 1: Cut the can
- Use scissors to cut off the bottom of the can
- Cut off the bottom
- The whole piece is cut flat
- Leave only the inner ring and cut off the rest
- This is the cut circular part
- Sand the surrounding area smooth and the basic part is completed
Part 2: Start making medals
- Use felt to cut a circle, 6-7 cm wider than the bottom of the can
- Similarly cut a larger piece of felt (the blue one in the picture), the proportions of the three are as shown below, and sew a circle as shown in the red line
- Tighten the red line.
- Then sewn together
- Sewing 3 mm (black thread) and tightening again. However, this process is not required.
- Wrap the front side like this.
- Next we make the back of the badge. Prepare the felt (light blue) slightly smaller than the overall size.
- Prepare a thin strip.
- I sewed it onto the felt (you can use a sewing machine).
- Cut off the seam allowance (yellow line), fold it in half along the direction of the black arrow, and then sew according to the red line position.
- Use a sewing machine to sew according to the blue line mark
- This is what the stitching looks like on the “back”
- Paste it on the "back" with cardboard, leaving about 2 mm around it. This process can be omitted
- Place it on the main body of the badge
- Sewing and finishing. You can decide what pattern to embroider on the badge, just do it in advance!
