Used plastic bottles, straws, and toy helicopters made of table tennis balls are all easily available. In the tutorial illustration, I used a long gourd-shaped plastic bottle. I cut off the bottle body to leave a chubby one. That section is just the right size to hold a ping pong ball. Do not move the bottle cap at the mouth of the bottle. Keep it. Use scissors to make a hole in the bottle cap so that you can insert the straw later. Cut the two straws into four sections, and then cut the two straws into four sections. The sections are crisscrossed to make the propeller of the airplane, and fixed with small pins. Be prepared where needles and threads are needed in the steps.
