I don’t know since when, this kind of light bulb has become one of the favorite creative objects of handicraft enthusiasts. Maybe it’s because of its cute appearance and transparent material!
Open the bottom of the bulb and add sand, plants, etc. to create a unique and special micro-landscape. No matter where it is placed, it will definitely attract everyone’s attention!~
You need to prepare:
Hammer
Tweezers
Super glue
Copper wire
Funnel (can also be made of paper)
Light bulb
Clay
Moss balls or mini plants
Small plants or other decorations (optional)
Sand
Soil
Gravel
Larger stones (optional)
Fake mini fish
1. To clear the bulb, it is best to follow these steps:
Use a hammer to open the bottom of the bulb (be careful not to use too much force) - this may take a few minutes
Carefully hit the black part in the center of the bottom of the bulb to separate the bulb from the threaded sleeve
Turn the bulb upside down and use tweezers to empty it (don’t shake it!)
Try to remove shards of glass left in the threads
Use pliers to bend the edges of the threads inward
2. Finally we only need the glass part and the threaded sleeve. Use strong glue to glue them together.
If there is any visible dirt, remember to clean it. However, make sure not to put too much pressure on the glass surface as it can break easily. Rough towels can also cause scratches.
3. In order to make the bulb stand stably, use clay to make the base:
Make a ring out of clay and press the light bulb diagonally onto it. Then wait for the clay to dry.
4. The fish should be suspended in the light bulb.
Cut a 9 cm long copper wire
Use tweezers to unscrew one end
Take a fake fish and insert the copper wire into the fake fish to fix it
Repeat these steps with another fish and a piece of copper wire
5. Roll up the paper and make it look like a funnel.
Insert the funnel into the bulb about 1 cm from the bottom of the bulb
Slowly pour the gravel into the funnel while moving the funnel in a circle (to distribute the gravel evenly)
6. Stop adding gravel when the layer height is about 0.5cm - 1cm
Carefully shake the bulb and follow the same steps to add soil
7. Now use the funnel to dig a small hole
Use tweezers to place the bottom of the plant into the gravel and soil layer
Slowly pour the sand into the funnel while moving the funnel around the plant
Stop adding sand when barely visible soil
8. The last step is optional. If you want, you can add more decorations, such as:
Unique stones
Different types/colors of sand
Shells
Moss ball
Twig hanging from the top of the bulb
Water
Coral
9. For example, I added some small shells to the sand to balance the colors in the bulbs, and it looked pretty good~
