Do you often fail when you try to convince your kids to keep their room tidy and organized? Don't worry, most of us do. But, I never stop trying and coming up with ideas to make things better every now and then.
Sharing a tutorial on using a toilet paper roll to make a pen holder into a cute caterpillar style. Not only does it save money and protect the environment, but it also makes children more interested in taking the initiative to pack stationery!~
Material Tools:
5 toilet paper rolls
Colored paper (covering roll and decoration)
Glue
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil
Circular hole punch
Round wave punch
Anything you want to use for decoration: crayons, paints, glitter, wooden decorations...
1. First cut out the rectangles that will cover the paper roll from the colored paper. Their height should be equal to the height of the paper roll, and the width should be the circumference of the paper roll + 1 cm.
2. Apply some glue to one of the shorter sides of the rectangle and attach it to the rolling paper tube.
3. Roll the paper onto the roll, apply some glue on the other short end of the paper and stick it to the roll.
4. Do the same with the remaining paper rolls. Now glue the rolls together, apply a strip of glue on one roll and connect it to the other. I recommend applying glue to the overlapping portions of the colored paper so the overlap is well hidden.
5. The caterpillar needs eyes, so we use a hole punch to cut out some round paper pieces, draw the eyes and glue them on the first rolling paper tube.
6. The caterpillar also needs a mouth. Cut it out from colored paper and glue it on.
7. If your caterpillar also wants to add antennae, please cut two long strips from green cardboard, then use a hole punch to make two circular pieces with a wavy effect, and attach them to the long strips. One end.
8. Glue the other end of the strip to the first rolling paper tube.
9. Continue to use the hole punch to cut out circles of different colors from the colored paper and attach them to each paper roll as decoration.
10. Continue to use colored paper to make small flowers, grass, etc. and paste them on the paper roll. Children can play freely.
11.The ladybug here is a wooden decoration.
12. Finished, cute caterpillar pen holder!
13. This pen holder has 5 compartments, so you can easily sort pencils, scissors, etc.~
