Some people say that the most difficult sorrow is nostalgia. Perhaps because of this, photographer Christoffer Relander decided to put the Finnish scenery that accompanied his childhood into a wide-mouth glass bottle as a souvenir.

This photography series called Jarred & Displaced is all about rural scenes in southern Finland taken by Relandern. Relander spent some time here as a child. Now that he has grown up and works outside the home, he still has a fondness for the scenery of his hometown. Missed very much.

Relander used the double-exposure technique on the negatives to transform the Finnish scenery he was once familiar with into black-and-white photos and combine them with glass jars without any post-processing by external software. Perhaps the childhood memories have gradually faded over time, but the forests I once ran through, the steep mountain ridges, and the neighbors I played pretending to be a family drinker are still hidden somewhere deep in my heart and have never left.
