Tutorial on how to DIY coasters from waste CDs:
1. Materials prepared: 2 old CDs, 2 pieces of contrasting cloth of the same color, 1 piece of cotton, 1 piece of lace, needle, thread, and scissors.
2. First, we cut the cloth. Press the disc on the cloth, and cut it out little by little along the 1.5-2 cm outside the disc, which will form 2 circular pieces of cloth. Cut 2 pieces in total, cut one third off, and then cut the same color but with Cut out half a circle from the contrasting fabric.
3. Use double-sided tape to stick the padding to the CD, and cut the padding to the same size as the CD.
4. Place one-third and one-half of the fabric with the front facing each other, and sew the back with straight stitches to form a new circle. Sew the lace on top to cover the stitches between the two fabrics.
5. Sew along the circle in a straight line without cutting the thread, put it on the disc, tighten the thread evenly and tightly little by little, and the disc will be tightly wrapped.
6. Package another CD.
7. Place the two wrapped CDs with opposite sides facing each other, and sew them together with thread, and you're done.
Even those who don’t know how to sew can still do it. Just use hemp rope to wrap the disc directly.
