DIY automatic water-absorbing potted plants simply use large Coke bottles, cotton thread, and a few physical principles. Come and try it!
A flower pot that uses the principle of capillarity to keep the soil moist. Prepare a 2-liter Coke bottle, cotton rope, soil and seeds.
Cut the bottle in half and use a nail and hammer to drill a hole in the cap.
Tie the rope into a knot and pass it through the bottle cap. The length of the rope can be adjusted by yourself.
Screw the cap back on and install it as shown in the picture.
Water is placed in the lower part of the bottle, and soil is placed in the upper part of the bottle. The water is automatically transferred to the soil through the cotton rope. When the soil absorbs enough moisture, it will naturally stop receiving moisture from the cotton rope. When the water becomes less, you can take out the upper part of the bottle and pour the water into the lower part of the bottle.
