For many people, Christmas is all about gift giving, but some families struggle to afford the gifts under the tree. Luckily, there is a kind man, just like a real-life Santa Claus. James Annis, 80, is a woodworker who has been making toys for needy children for the past 50 years.
Annis donated nearly 300 toys. From wooden cars to dolls, he carves delightful designs out of scrap wood he gets from local donations. But in addition to that, he also buys other materials himself (such as wheels and paint), which costs about $1,000 a year. Annis' selfless act of kindness comes from the fact that he didn't have toys of his own growing up, so he hopes other children don't have that regret.
"My dad worked but didn't make a lot of money. It was hard to guarantee a good Christmas for five kids." When people ask me how much money I make making these toys, I tell them, my salary is See the smile on the childs face. " He hopes to continue bringing joy to children for as long as possible. "I hope to be able to do this until I can't anymore," he said with a smile. ”
