Today I will teach you how to make a simple and practical cowhide notebook, let’s learn together!
Materials that need to be prepared and Tools:
Kraft paper, twine or other tools required: paper cutting, measuring tools, awl or hand drill for drilling holes, large clamps, threading tools, thicker book cover paper, glue.
Manual DIY step-by-step method:
Step 1:
Finished picture.
I like the sincere feeling. Occasionally, when I open the thread-bound book, I suddenly feel a sense of returning to my home. I buy flowers every month, save the kraft paper to wrap the flowers, and use the hemp rope to tie the flowers to complete this work. I hope it can inspire you.
Step 2:
The first step is to cut the paper according to the size and number of pages you designed. Mine is slightly larger than A4, with more than 50 pages.
Step 3:
The second step is to arrange all the papers neatly. The pages that are turned out should be aligned. Fix them with clips. "Prevent them from falling apart before punching. The kraft paper is off track."
Step 4:
The third step is to make the cover. Cut a piece of kraft paper slightly larger than the perimeter of this page, two millimeters larger. It can be the same size. Hard cover paper is also available.
Step 5:
Two layers of kraft paper, front and back covers.
Step 6:
Hemp rope for tying flowers
"Yes...its still the hemp rope mentioned in the first two tutorials...still I haven’t used it yet…” Prepare the thread for kraft paper. Friends can use multiple strands of stronger white cotton thread.
Step 7:
Punch the hole. An awl will also work. I didn’t prepare any, so I used the existing hand drill.
Step 8:
It’s time to install the wire... Due to the limitations of the hand-twisted drill bit, it was difficult for me to drill the holes and thread the hemp rope, so I twisted the wire to make a simple threading tool. The specific operation is shown in the figure.
Step 9:
Thread and tie.
Step 10:
I used a clip to clamp the other end. This fixed the kraft paper and made it difficult to punch holes.
Step 11:
One ??thing worth mentioning is that I use recycled kraft paper. In order to avoid material waste, in some places where the size is not large... I use paper cutters. Use the scraps to wrap the edge of the binding side with glue and also play a fixing role.
Step 12:
The finished product probably looks like this...it will look better if you pose it for a while.
Step 13:
A few of them were printed a few times when I was practicing carving them. They might be pretty good.
Step 14:
Thats probably it. You can tie it tighter when installing the wires.
Step 15:
If you pose for a photo, you can still read the small leaf red sandalwood bookmark inside. It is not easy for me to make this negative textbook in the end. .
Step 16:
Sign up to Mr. "Geng". Inspired by Mr. I originally wanted to imitate Mr.s work, but unfortunately I gave up because I didn't have bamboo for the spine, so I used thread for binding.
Step 17:
Tips:
Learn to be a craftsman and don’t dare to discard any materials easily. Yours sincerely.
