The horn has sounded and it’s time to go to war. Since your grandfather left you a sword, you should do something, right? Never be afraid, paper can save you. Okay, there is still a certain gap between it and the real thing, but it is always no problem to cope with it for an afternoon. I'll teach you how to start making swords right away.
How to make a sword out of paper is part of a series of tutorials on making a sword out of paper. The tutorials also include using rolled paper (simple and easy), making a sword out of popsicle sticks, and using To use paper for origami, follow the tutorial on how to make a sword out of paper and fold a sword from the production department.
How to make a sword from paper
- 1Fold both sides of a square piece of origami paper diagonally, just like holding a rhombus Pick it up, fold it in half along the diagonal line, open it, turn it 90 degrees, fold it in half along the other diagonal line, and open it again, so that there will be two intersecting X-shaped creases on the paper.
- Turn the pretty side toward you. If both sides look good, then choose whichever side you want.
- 2Fold the top and bottom ends to the middle to form a clear crease. At this junction, the upper and lower ends are two tips in opposite directions. No matter which side is up when you put the paper down, you can now see the effect. Then, turn the paper over.
- 3Fold the flat edges into the middle. What you see now is the bottom side of the paper. You've folded in both endspoint, so you can see a shape that has two horizontal sides and the other two sides are pointed shapes. Fold the horizontal side downward toward the middle. The turned-down side should be highlighted.
- Repeat the previous step on the other side. The final shape should be a rhombus (or square, depending on the angle you look at it) sandwiched between two triangles and two rhombuses below (the colored side).
- 4Fold the two endpoints of the diamond in the center to the middle, the shape you see now It should look a lot like a finger cot - two small colored triangles on either side. Thats right, isn't it? Then go ahead.
- 5Put this shape over so that the length becomes half of the original length, and then open it again.
- 6Fold one end to the edges of the two opposite diamonds facing inward. The bottom of the paper on both sides should be on the edge. forming a rhombus. Middle between these two ends is a series of triangles. Turn the triangle side inward and fold the rhombus at one end to align with the rhombus at the other end. do you understand?
- The pretty side should be the triangular side, which looks like a medal ribbon, the kind with a V-shaped cutout at the edge.
- 7Fold the outer end of the inward-facing rhombus to the middle. This tape now has 4 rhombuses. Counting from the left, fold the third Fold the right end of the rhombus to the middle. Keeping this end in the middle, fold the strap back on itself. This will create two creases that are very close together. Do the same with the leftmost rhombus.
- < li>At this time, the middle should be a little protruding, and the triangle has disappeared (under the folded layers).
- 8Put the sword horizontally in front of you. Fold the bottom edge toward the middle, and then open it (you will need this crease later). Then, turn the sword in another direction, and do the same to the other edge Same process.
- 9Use a squeeze method to fold the hilt. Let the four small triangles face you. Fold the tip of the triangle on the left to the middle. Then, open the triangle and flatten it so you have a smaller corner on the right. Can you see the handle is starting to form?
- To the other side The triangle is processed in the same way. In this way, the paper on one side is much thinner and smaller than the other side.
- 10Extrude and fold again. Just next to the triangle that was just folded, there is another triangle, which still looks intact. Its good days are over. Use the same method to fold this triangle. Fold the tip to the middle. Open it, then flatten it so that the width of the sword is halved.
- Half of the hilt is finished. A box shape has been formed two-thirds of the way. Isn’t it?
- The same goes for the other sidedeal with. This way the entire hilt is completed.
- 11Fold the tip of the sword hilt so that it does not tilt up. It works great if one side is raised, but you don't want your hilt to have sharp points all over the place.
- The hilt and blade are now complete.
Materials that may be used
- Origami paper
DIY Tips
- You can use cardboard instead of popsicle sticks.
- If you are not good at origami and are still very new to it, you can use larger paper. Use smaller paper and making various creases on it may cause you unnecessary trouble.
Notes
- This sword is entirely made of paper, so don't get it wet.
- This is not a real sword, so don't bend it, and don't use it to cut anything too hard, otherwise it will leave permanent marks on the sword.
- Don't try to hurt anyone with this sword. "Its made of paper" is not an excuse for hurting someone.
