Many friends who have just come into contact with origami and paper art seem to lack sufficient understanding of some basic folding methods. Since many of our tutorials use basic shapes as the starting point, many friends are confused at the beginning. I'm a little confused, so now I will introduce a very important basic origami production method that almost all square origami will encounter. It will be much easier to follow the tutorial in the future.
First, you need to prepare a square piece of paper, and then fold the corners in half as shown in the picture. There are two terms that need to be clarified, one is "mountain mark", the other is "valley mark", "mountain mark" As the name implies, the crease is convex towards you, that is, it stands up relative to the tabletop and feels like a hill; while the "valley mark" is the opposite of the "mountain mark", which is concave and feels like a valley.
Then slowly lift up the mountain marks on the left and right as shown in the picture, and close the diagonal valley marks inward
Continue to fold along the crease, the folding will be very easy at this time
It will be finished soon
In this way, a square origami is completed. This is the most important basic origami, and many subsequent tutorials will use it!
