We are very grateful to Kaifeng Taoli, a member of the Paper Art Network, for bringing us the lotus origami tutorial. The text editing and picture shooting of the entire tutorial came from Kaifeng Taoli. The following operating instructions are excerpted from Kaifeng Taoli Diary, which will be helpful to everyones production.

Now I will publish the physical tutorial of the origami lotus flower I made to communicate with netizens. 32 pictures in total. Put them in my photo album "Lotus Man Pond Fragrance". I divide the whole process into two stages. The first stage is the crease preparation stage. After each crease is completed, the paper must be opened in time. The steps of this stage must be carried out on a flat surface on the table; the second stage is the formal production stage of the lotus, that is, using the previous creases to fold the lotus step by step. In my actual operation, all actions at this stage are performed with the paper in hand. Because this is a three-dimensional lotus origami, it is more convenient and easier to hold in your hand and operate. This is the main difference between three-dimensional origami and flat origami. But in the process of making the tutorial, I had to put it on a piece of paper on the desktop for convenience in taking pictures and explaining. There is a certain distance between this and actual operation, please understand. This origami lotus is an early work in my original origami lotus series, and the making process is relatively simple. This physical tutorial also reflects the folding process in my actual exploration. The production steps may not be conventional and the rules are a bit messy because there is really no rules to follow. ——Kaifeng Taoli
